ScarInsight is editorially independent. Treatment rankings, evidence levels, and recommendations are based on published research and our editorial process, not commercial partnerships.

What this means in practice

• Evidence levels for treatments and devices are set based on published research — not whether the product has an affiliate program.
• We include at least one widely-accessible, non-affiliate option (like silicone sheets) on every relevant page so you always have a no-commission alternative.
• We don’t use “best of” lists that require subjective ranking when a merit-based comparison is possible.
• When we don’t have enough evidence to recommend a product, we say so.

How we handle errors

If a device specification is outdated, an affiliate link is broken, or new evidence changes our evidence rating, we update the relevant page and note the revision date.
